International Gateway Belize and Jungle Jeanie's by the Sea offer individual and group programs in Central America's only English speaking destination - Belize! Have you ever dreamt of learning English in a tropical destination with the warm waves of the Caribbean caressing your feet? This is your chance!

Belize

Belize (population 300,000), part of the British Commonwealth is an unspoiled tropical paradise similar to Hawaii, Cancun and Guam 40 years ago. Year round temperatures are a balmy 29C. Tourists visit Belize to enjoy the Caribbean beaches, Mayan ruins, citrus orchards, rum factories, caves, jungle treks, kayaking, birding, wildlife, water sports and scuba diving on the world's second largest barrier reef.

Hopkins, population 5000, is famous for sport fishing, scuba diving and is the centre of Garifuna culture and drumming. It is also a popular retirement town for Brits, Americans and Canadians. Since over 90% of Hopkins residents speak English your English ability will improve very quickly. All of our teachers are certified in teaching English as a Second Language.

Jungle Jeanie's by the Sea, (the centre for ESL programs, accommodation and meals) is located on a pristine white sand beach in the city of Hopkins. The resort was established in 2003 and is owned and operated by Canadians, Jean and John Barkman. They welcome guests from around the world and believe in treating everyone like family. John, an award winning chef, fuses indigenous local products with American style 'home cooking'. His specialty is rainforest fruit jam!

Hopkins was voted the #1 destination by the Belize Tourism Board for 2010! Jungle Jeanie’s by the Sea was a finalist for Belize's ‘GREEN’ resort of the year in 2010 and winner of Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence in 2011!
